The National Veterans Memorial and Museum Is proud to present the highly anticipated exhibition, The Twenty-Year War, by Artist Beau Simmons and Authors, Dan Blakeley and Tom Amenta
Featuring captivating portraits and powerful, personal stories from an unprecedented era in our country’s history, The Twenty-Year War comes to life through Veterans’ voices in video, podcasts and blogs. Twenty large-scale color and black-and-white photographs and an introductory video are accompanied by “The Twenty-Year War” book, released in 2021 during the 20-year anniversary of 9/11.
In-person, hybrid, and virtual programming will extend this exhibition with initiatives for physical and mental wellness, transitioning from service and leadership.

This exhibition is derived from “The Twenty-Year War,” a book that was officially launched at the museum during the 20-year anniversary of 9/11. Museum staff created this powerful, new exhibition in collaboration with the book producer/photographer, Beau Simmons, and authors, Dan Blakeley and Tom Amenta, both former U.S. Army Rangers.
